Mbappe’s mum drops Real Madrid transfer hint as she bids farewell to PSG
Kylian Mbappe organized a party on Monday to mark his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, during which his mother and agent Feiza Lamari hinted he would join Real Madrid this summer.
About 250 guests attended the party at Gigi, an upscale Italian restaurant near the Champs Elysées in Paris. As she left the field, LaMarie was asked where her son would play football next season, to which she replied: “You guys know.”
Mbappe is widely expected to join Madrid, having confirmed he will leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires this summer. Sources tell us he is expected to join Madrid after the Spanish giants face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on June 1.
The source added that Mbappe is still keen to represent France at the Paris Olympics, although Real Madrid still insist that their player must choose between playing at Euro 2024 or the Olympics.
His father Wilfried and brother Ethan also attended Monday’s farewell party, along with most of his PSG teammates, club staff, friends and extended family. PSG coach Luis Enrique was not in attendance. He has ruled out Mbappe for the final two league games of the season and his participation in Saturday’s Coupe de France final against Lyon remains uncertain.
French President Emmanuel Macron and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi were invited but did not attend.
