Bronny James Will Continue for NBA Draft, Agent Rich Paul Confirms
Bronny James, son of NBA legend LeBron James, has officially declared for the NBA draft, aiming to follow in his father’s footsteps in the professional basketball arena.
Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports Group, affirmed Bronny’s decision to remain in the draft, stating, “He’s a really good prospect who has a lot of room for growth.”
Bronny James, after a season with Southern California where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, announced his intention to enter the draft in April. Despite facing a setback due to a congenital heart defect that required a procedure last year, he has since been cleared for NBA play by a panel of doctors.
The 6-foot-1 1/2-inch guard participated in the NBA draft combine, expressing his commitment to putting in the necessary work to pursue a professional career.
With the draft scheduled for June 26-27, Bronny had until the deadline on Wednesday to finalize his decision, choosing to forego college eligibility in favor of pursuing his NBA aspirations.
If Bronny James is selected and plays in the NBA next season, he and his father LeBron James could potentially make history as the first father-son duo to simultaneously compete in the league. LeBron, set to embark on his 22nd NBA season this fall, has expressed his desire to share the court with his son.
The prospect of the James duo playing together has sparked speculation within the basketball community, with teams potentially viewing Bronny’s selection as an opportunity to entice LeBron to join their roster.
As the draft approaches, all eyes will be on Bronny James as he looks to carve out his own path in the NBA, while carrying on the legacy of his father’s illustrious career.
