San Francisco 49ers Extend Jauan Jennings Through 2025 Season

The San Francisco 49ers have solidified their roster by signing receiver Jauan Jennings to a contract extension, securing his presence through the 2025 season.

Jennings, who received a $4.89 million restricted free agent tender in March, inked a two-year deal worth up to $15.4 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed, as confirmed by his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Primarily known for his contributions beyond catching, Jennings emerged as a crucial component of the 49ers’ offense. Despite less prolific stats compared to his counterparts, Jennings showcased versatility by excelling in blocking roles and delivering standout performances in the postseason.

Teammate George Kittle emphasized Jennings’ impact, labeling him as “one of one” for his physicality and consistent attitude. Kittle praised Jennings’ all-around skills, highlighting his ability to elevate the team’s performance on game day.

In the 2023 season, Jennings demonstrated his value with 10 receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown across three playoff games, including an impressive showing in the Super Bowl loss to Kansas City.

Originally drafted in the seventh round in 2020, Jennings steadily progressed, transitioning from the practice squad to become a dependable asset for the 49ers. Over the past three years, he has amassed 78 receptions for 963 yards and seven touchdowns, with a notable knack for converting crucial third downs.

Meanwhile, negotiations continue with star receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who seeks a long-term contract extension following his impressive performances. Aiyuk, set to play on a fifth-year option worth approximately $14.1 million this season, aims for a deal reflective of his production, comparable to top-tier receivers in the league.

In other updates, notable players such as running back Christian McCaffrey and defensive tackle Maliek Collins have been absent from the voluntary offseason activities, while defensive end Nick Bosa and linebacker Fred Warner observed practice without participating.

Looking ahead, tight end George Kittle expressed confidence in his recovery from offseason core muscle surgery, expecting to be fully fit for the commencement of training camp.
