West Ham Duo Soucek and Coufal Included in Czech Republic’s Euro Squad

West Ham’s midfield stalwart Tomas Soucek and full-back Vladimir Coufal have secured their places in the Czech Republic’s provisional squad for the upcoming European Championships in Germany.

Led by Ivan Hasek, the Czech team will rely on the leadership of 29-year-old midfielder Soucek, boasting an impressive 68 caps for his national side.

Despite a brief setback where Coufal was omitted from the squad following a nightclub incident in November, the 31-year-old has regained his place in the team, demonstrating his resilience and commitment.

The squad also features a trio from Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and German Cup-winning squad, including striker Patrik Schick, who emerged as joint top scorer at Euro 2020, forward Adam Hlozek, and goalkeeper Matej Kovar.

Having advanced to the quarter-finals in the previous edition of the tournament, the Czech Republic is geared up for their opening match against Portugal on June 18th in Leipzig, followed by encounters with Group D adversaries Georgia and Turkey in Hamburg.
